A Letter to Congress: Protect Medicaid for Medically Complex Children
The National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care, along with CAPC and over fifty-nine other national and state-based organizations, submitted a joint letter urging Congressional leaders to protect Medicaid funding. The letter expresses joint opposition to proposals for budget reconciliation that would threaten access to palliative and supportive care for medically complex children. The letter emphasizes the devastating consequences that cuts to Medicaid would have on this population, and highlights how pediatric palliative care improves patient outcomes, lowers costs, and provides essential support to families.
CAPC has drafted a template state-level letter that state champions can send to their own Senators, advocating to protect Medicaid funding and access to pediatric palliative care.
