Best Teaching Practices in Primary Palliative Care Education
In a Journal of Palliative Medicine article, CAPC’s Brynn Bowman, MPA, and colleagues present findings from a literature review on best teaching practices in primary palliative care education for medical, APRN, and PA students. Aimed at equipping frontline clinicians with essential skills, the review offers lessons learned and evidence‑informed recommendations for curriculum development, while highlighting key gaps. The authors identified five consensus themes as best practices: multifaceted teaching strategies, interprofessional education, reflective and/or humanities-based experiences, early and repeated exposure, and availability of teaching resources.
