Be the Best Hospice Physician You Can Be

If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you:

Must be a licensed Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) in the state(s) of practice, with training or experience in caring for chronically or terminally ill patients
Maintains active DEA license
Valid driver's license
Requires strong clinical judgment, administrative capabilities, and excellent communication skills to support patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration
Must demonstrate a clear commitment to AccentCare's philosophy, mission, values, and culture of compassionate end-of-life care
Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, sitting, and reaching, as well as occasional stooping, climbing stairs, and balancing
Must be able to lift or assist in moving patients up to 200 lbs with help and handle supplies or equipment up to 20 lbs over distances
Work environment may involve moderate noise, indoor/outdoor conditions, occasional exposure to chemicals, bodily fluids, computer use, and varying surfaces such as tile or uneven ground
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Medical Director, clinical team, and attending physicians to develop, evaluate, and support individualized hospice care plans for patients and families
Review patient medical histories and current treatments to assess prognosis, guide care planning, and provide input on hospice eligibility and certification of limited life expectancy
Serve as a medical consultant and liaison between the interdisciplinary team and community physicians, helping resolve care conflicts and ensuring continuity of care
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, family care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives (QAPI) to support clinical excellence
Contribute to symptom management protocols and provide medical guidance for pain, nausea, and other end-of-life concerns, ensuring 24/7 physician availability for urgent needs
Support provider relations and staff education through community outreach and internal training related to hospice philosophy, palliation, and terminal illness management
24-weeks of annual coverage--weekends included--at an inpatient care unit.
24-weeks of making patient visits in their place of residence.
