Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas is hiring an exceptional board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Care Physician!
As a Pediatric Palliative Care Physician, you will join a deeply committed, well-established interdisciplinary team to provide compassionate, holistic care for children and families navigating serious illnesses. Dell Children's is the only pediatric hospice program centered within a children's hospital in Texas.
*Provide care for patients and families in Central Texas through our inpatient and stand-alone pediatric hospice program. Inpatient coverage includes PICU, NICU, CCU as well as Med/Surg units, Hematology/Oncology and Complex Care pediatrics, delivering comprehensive palliative and hospice care to ensure continuous comfort and the highest quality of life for patients and families.
*Provide a mix of both goals of care and symptom management.
*Collaborate with a diverse interdisciplinary team—including nurse practitioners, social workers, chaplains, and child life specialists—to wrap comprehensive clinical and emotional support around families in Central Texas.
*Shape the future of the field by teaching and mentoring medical students, pediatric residents, and adult palliative care fellows through our academic partnership with Dell Medical School. Academic appointment within the University of Texas at Austin/Dell Medical School (UT/DMS), Department of Pediatrics
*Champion innovative programs like our perinatal palliative care and pediatric hospice initiatives to meet the unique, sensitive needs of families from the very beginning of their journey.
