Clinical Innovation: Created the Fogelman Palliative Care Acuity Report to streamline early care integration.
Crisis Leadership: Authored Crisis Standards of Care and launched critical ICU telemedicine platforms during COVID-19.
National Policy: Co-authored the American Thoracic Society’s policy on early palliative care for respiratory disease and is a lead author for the recently published Society for Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Guidelines for EOL Care for the Adult ICU, which is redefining the care of dying ICU patients worldwide.
Dr. Fogelman is one of only four non-physician department heads of Palliative Medicine in the U.S. She is helping to transform and redefine the landscape of medical leadership. She is a graduate of the inaugural class of Columbia University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in 2005, and also holds a BS/MS in Nursing and a BA in Psychology.
